Red Sails, Lee on Solent

Painted after a trip to Lee on Solent. Time constraints meant I was not able to paint on location, so a few photographs and sketches provided the inspiration for this and several other paintings of the sailing dinghies at Lee. When back in my studio I decided to experiment with texture so there is a lot of Cold Wax Medium in this oil painting, most of which was painted with a knife, even the reflections to create a feeling of movement in the sand and sky.

Every painting is back-stamped with my studio logo and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. I do not sell prints. Each painting is a uniquely individual artwork for you to treasure and enjoy.

Currently on exhibition and for sale at the Horsham Museum Sussex until 5th July as part of a showcase of local artists. Free entry at all times.

in room setting

To give you some idea of how this lovely painting may look in your own home, take a look at this image showing it within a room setting. The painting appears at the correct scale and with a white contemporary style frame similar to the one supplied. Shown with a dark blue coloured wall so you can visualise how it may appear rather than on a white or paler wall.
